Amora Hotels & Resorts has appointed Rahul Dangwal as general manager of Amora Herencia Riverwalk Melbourne.

Dangwal brings more than 15 years experience in the hospitality industry to the role, along with a strong track record in hotel operations, commercial performance and brand positioning.

An experienced hotelier, Dangwal has held key roles with TFE Hotels, Millennial Hotels and Resorts, Stamford Hotels and Resorts and Accor.

His background spans hotel operations, revenue strategy and market positioning. Dangwal joined Amora Hotels & Resorts as hotel manager in 2024 and has played a pivotal role in repositioning Amora Herencia Riverwalk Melbourne within the city’s competitive accommodation landscape.

Dangwal successfully led the delivery of 45 new guest rooms, significantly expanding the hotel’s inventory and enhancing its ability to cater to corporate and leisure segments. Under his leadership, the property also earned a 4.5-star rating.

A proven leader

Chief operating officer of Amora Hotels & Resorts Tamer Habib said that Dangwal has earned his stripes as a hotel leader.

“Rahul has played an instrumental role in the evolution of Amora Herencia Riverwalk Melbourne, demonstrating clear strategic vision and strong leadership throughout a significant period of transformation.

“The successful delivery of the hotel’s expansion and its repositioning to a 4.5-star standard reflect his ability to lead major operational initiatives while continuing to enhance the overall guest experience and operational performance,” he said.

Dangwal said he was proud to lead Amora Herencia Riverwalk Melbourne through an exciting phase of growth.

“Following the recent expansion and repositioning, the property now offers an enhanced guest experience. Situated on the banks of the Yarra River and just moments from the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the hotel offers a distinctive blend of tranquil surroundings and seamless access to Melbourne’s key attractions,” he said.

“With expanded room inventory and comprehensive conference facilities, we are well positioned as a premier destination for major events, corporate travel and premium leisure accommodation.”
