The Amora Herencia Riverwalk Melbourne, formerly Amora RiverWalk Melbourne, has relaunched following a transformation into a design-forward destination that blends heritage character with contemporary comfort.
Set within a former tram depot along the Yarra River, the reimagined property brings a boutique sensibility to Melbourne’s east, pairing thoughtful interiors with a location that puts guests within easy reach of the city’s best dining, shopping, sporting and cultural hotspots, as well as the Yarra’s walking and cycling trails.
At the heart of the relaunch is the addition of 45 newly designed guest rooms, created in collaboration with SORA Interior Architecture and Design. The spaces have a warm, sophisticated feel with layered textures, bespoke furnishings and elevated bedding, while subtle references to the building’s industrial past keep the story of the site alive.

Herencia, meaning heritage, inheritance or legacy, reflects both the history of the building and the multi-generational ownership of the Siriphatrawan family. That narrative carries through the design, where original architectural features are balanced with a contemporary aesthetic – resulting in the stay that feels distinctively Melbourne: creative, considered and effortlessly liveable.
Designed with flexibility in mind, the hotel also caters to families with its newly built Deluxe Double Rooms, offering a spacious and practical option for group stays. Guests can opt into a daily fully buffet breakfast, with added value for families – children under six years old dine free.
Amora Herencia offers a range of tailored accommodation packages – including seasonal footy offers, indulgence-focused escapes and convenient Park and Stay options – appealing to both interstate visitors and locals seeking an easy city staycation.
Amora Herencia had a launch event attended by corporate guests, partners and VIPs to mark the milestone. The evening included a champagne reception, refined gastronomy and live entertainment, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Chairwoman Amornrat Siriphatrawan alongside the group’s owners and directors.
Amora Hotels and Resorts chief executive officer Earp Siriphatrawan addressed attendees, noting the launch coincided with the birthday anniversary of his late father and founder, Dr Tanapun Siriphatrawan. The event also marked 29 years of Amora Hotels & Resorts, highlighting the group’s ongoing growth in the hospitality industry.
