Ananas Consulting is commemorating 10 years of providing commercial support to hospitality businesses, including times of volatility.

Throughout the decade of disruption, Ananas Consulting has served clients such as Arkadia, which owns hotels including Elysium Noosa Resort, Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Gold Coast and Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific.

To manage volatility, Ananas Consulting built an integrated suite of services spanning hotel strategy, outsourced sales, technology and sustainable development, designed from the ground up to help operators not just survive instability, but grow through it.

The firm’s outsourced hotel sales division now supports 34 hotels across Australia. The division gives independent operators immediate access to experienced sales talent, established industry relationships and active market coverage, without the fixed cost of an in-house team.

“International travel sentiment changes quickly, corporate budgets tighten without warning, and booking behaviour has become far more reactive,” Ananas Consulting head of sales Sarah Smith said. “[Hotels] need agile commercial support that adapts in real time.”

The firm has proven it can innovate. Out of the pandemic emerged its AI-powered guest feedback platform Critiq built ahead of the AI curve. The tool offers CRM-driven reporting, virtual presentations and structured pipeline management.

Moving forward, the group’s sustainability arm will focus on adaptive reuse of existing structures. Its inaugural property in the NSW Southern Highlands is currently under construction, a tangible commitment to responsible tourism development in Australia.

“Ten years is a significant moment to stop and reflect,” Ananas Consulting founder Michael Smith said. “I’m incredibly proud of what this team has built and genuinely excited about what the next decade holds.”
