Club Med has capped off a record-breaking 2024, recording a business volume of €2.09 billion (AU$3.75b), a rise of 7 per cent on 2023 with demand from the Pacific market (Australia and New Zealand) also recording impressive growth, as the brand celebrates its 75th anniversary.
In the East, South Asia and Pacific (ESAP) region, Club Med grew its business volume by 24 per cent year-on-year and welcomed close to 260,000 guests from the region to its resorts worldwide, a 5.5 per cent increase from 2023.
Travellers are also continuing to opt for Asia sun destinations when looking for a warm getaway with Club Med’s Asia sun resorts witnessing strong growth. The newly renovated Club Med Phuket saw an increase in sales of 20 per cent from the year prior and Bali continues to be the preference for families with kids making up 23 per cent of Club Med’s ESAP sales for the 2024 year.
“Our 2024 results reflect a clear shift in travellers’ priorities – unforgettable experiences that offer exceptional value,” Club Med Pacific general manager Michelle Davies said. “In the face of rising living costs, more and more travellers are seeking effortless holidays where everything is taken care of. With an increase in traffic of 12 per cent to our website this year, it’s clear our all-inclusive model, with no hidden costs, continues to resonate strongly.
While Pacific market sales increased by 32 per cent year on year, Club Med’s Mountain business continued to accelerate with its Japan ski resorts witnessing a 125 per cent growth.
“It’s no surprise Japan remains a top destination, with sales at our Tomamu and Sahoro resorts soaring by 59 per cent and 72 per cent respectively,” Davies said. “With lift passes, group lessons, and quality dining all included, combined with easy access from Australia, our Japan ski offering delivers unbeatable value and simplicity.
“Beyond the slopes, our Asia sun resorts are also thriving. We recently unveiled a new Family Oasis at Club Med Phuket signaling the end of the second phase of our renovations process. Exciting upgrades are also on the horizon for Club Med Bintan – further enhancing our premium, all-inclusive experience for guests across the region.
“Looking ahead to 2025, we’re setting the standard for the future of travel by anticipating our guests’ evolving needs and creating joyful, worry-free moments through our unique Club Med spirit and immersive resort atmosphere.”

Mountain resorts
Club Med’s mountain resorts winter season saw a significant growth of 20 per cent now accounting for over 35 per cent of total business volume, reinforcing the growing appeal of premium all-inclusive and hassle-free ski holiday experiences. More than 1.5 million clients visited Club Med in 2024, an increase of 1 per cent compared to 2023 with resort bed capacity increasing by 5 per cent from 2023.
Club Med’s resort operating income, net results recurring before tax, recurring EBITDA and operating margin remain equal to the 2023 level. The average room occupancy rate reached 75 per cent, marking a 2-point increase for Premium and Exclusive Collection Resorts compared to 2023.
April 2024 marked the completion of Club Med’s transition to an upscale offering with all resorts now classified as premium or Exclusive Collection, solidifying its competitive advantage in the upscale travel segment.
This surge was driven by the exceptional performance of Club Med’s mountain resorts in Japan, China, and the European Alps, which saw a 57 per cent rise compared to 2023. Club Med’s Exclusive Collection portfolio, encompassing resorts, chalets, villas and its legendary French sailing yacht, the Club Med 2, witnessed strong demand with a 23 per cent increase in business volume from 2023.
Exclusive Collection
Club Med’s Exclusive Collection portfolio experienced a 30 per cent uplift in sales, driven by exceptional performance across its European ski destinations. Val d’Isère, the only Exclusive Collection resort from its Europe ski offering achieved a 52 per cent increase, while the Valmorel Chalets saw a standout 155 per cent year-on-year growth, reflecting the growing demand for elevated, all-inclusive alpine experiences.
With international visitor arrivals to Asia Pacific projected to reach 813.7 million by 2027, a 26 per cent increase from 20241, Club Med remains at the forefront of adapting to the evolving needs of today’s travellers and is strategically expanding its global footprint with a robust pipeline of new resorts, renovations and a commitment to sustainable tourism.
First BREEAM certified resort in Asia Pacific: Club Med Borneo, Malaysia (2026)
Club Med Borneo will open in Sabah, Malaysia, in 2026, becoming the first resort in Asia-Pacific to be built with BREEAM certification – an internationally recognised environmental assessment system that evaluates the sustainability of buildings across various categories including energy, water, health and materials. The 41-acre resort, located in the pristine area of Kuala Penyu will feature 361 premium rooms and 39 luxury suites, including a dedicated Exclusive Collection Space. Just a 90-minute drive from Kota Kinabalu International Airport, Club Med Borneo will cater to a diverse clientele, including Malaysian and international visitors, and represents a significant addition to Club Med’s expanding regional footprint.
Renovation: Club Med Phuket, Thailand (2025)
Club Med Phuket has undergone a stunning transformation, marking the completion of its first renovation phase with an enhanced resort experience that seamlessly blends luxury with nature. The newly revamped heart of the resort now boasts an open and inviting atmosphere, with a beautifully designed pool area offering unobstructed views of the ocean, complemented by modern, locally-inspired room designs that bring a touch of Thai elegance. The renovations also saw the addition of the brand-new Family Oasis with rooms tailored for families and a dedicated Splash Park and bar area offering a space for families to create special memories and unwind.
Renovation: Club Med Bintan, Indonesia (2026)
Nestled along the sun-drenched coastlines of the South China Sea, Club Med Bintan will be undergoing a transformative renovation, set for full completion in 2026, to enhance its all-inclusive family holiday experience. Inspired by the island’s lush surroundings, the resort will feature redesigned rooms with Indonesian textures and nature elements, a revamped Family Waterplay Area, an Amazing Family! Hub, and elevated dining options including the Panorama Barista Bar, Terrace Specialty Restaurant and Zentika Specialty Restaurant. The first phase, including room renovations and the new family spaces, will be completed by the second half of 2025, promising a sophisticated and enriching experience for families.
