APT has just announced it has added eight extra departures this year to accommodate the demand to witness the rainwater from Channel Country filling Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre.

APT’s 7 day Lake Eyre and Flinders Ranges small group 4WD journey from Adelaide is priced from $5,295 per person twin share now has additional departures in August, September and October 2023.

The trip includes two scenic flights over Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre and visits the outback towns of Port Augusta and Birdsville with two-nights stay at Wilpena Pound Resort, the only accommodation within Flinders Ranges National Park.

“Our Lake Eyre 4WD tours are always a popular choice, and they sell out fast, so we are pleased that we can introduce eight extra departures at a time when Australia’s largest inland lake, Kati Thanda- Lake Eyre and the surrounding landscapes are coming to life with the arrival of flood waters,” said APT’s head of product Australia, Cher Lontok when discussing the additional departures.

“As the water makes its way down to the southernmost part of Lake Eyre North, the Warburton Groove is alive with flowing currents and the Warburton Lakes are brimming over with water. Our guests will be able to see the lake from the air and the ground, viewing the salt flats that will be thriving with flora, fauna and birdlife.”
