Luxury tour operator APT has announced the addition of ‘Walking Holidays’ to its product portfolio.

The new travel style is designed for those who wish to experience guided walking, with a touch of luxury.

APT’s new Walking Holidays provide guests with the freedom to fully immerse themselves in locations such as Tasmania’s Bay of Fires and Lake St Clair national parks, South East Queensland’s unique Scenic Rim and New Zealand’s spectacular Marlborough Sounds.

On an APT Walking Holiday, guests will only carry day packs and will be accompanied by a knowledgeable APT ‘Walking Leader’ as well as local walking guides.

The length of day walks and terrain varies, and guests will stay in “unique and beautiful” accommodation, dine on gourmet food and wine, and have ample free days included.

APT managing director Chris Hall said the new touring style is designed for active and adventurous guests who wish to enjoy being in nature explorations of some of Australia’s and New Zealand’s most spectacular and remote regions in style.

“We understand the interest in exploring our local areas and we are looking at all ways we can offer our amazing APT experience to agents and their guests,” he said.

“We are in the perfect position to offer more touring style options as we have the knowledge, infrastructure and expertise to be able to make it happen in this new travel landscape.

“Our new APT Walking Holidays complement our newly released Luxury Short Breaks, and both feature the best accommodation in spectacular locations with a focus on relaxation, food and wine, and the knowledge that everything is taken care of with APT.”
