APT Luxury Travel has launched its South America and Antarctica 2027/28 program as they continue to elevate luxury on expertly crafted itineraries across land, rail, river, and ocean adventures.

“We’ve continued to evolve our South America program in response to strong and consistent demand,” APT South America and Antarctica product manager Kelly D’Aucourt told Travel Weekly. “This includes the introduction of the ‘Best of South America with Belmond Andean Explorer Train’ along with the extended journey including the Galapagos Cruise, reflecting our guests’ appetite for immersive, Signature Experiences in some of the world’s most extraordinary destinations.

“Travelling today is very different to what it was decades ago, and our approach reflects that. Our journeys are fully escorted, with experienced Tour Directors and knowledgeable local guides who provide practical, on-the-ground support throughout.

“This includes guidance on areas guests can comfortably explore during free time, recommended dining options, and insights into local customs, giving guests the Freedom of Choice to experience each destination with confidence, knowing expert support is always close at hand.”

Interest in South America remains steady, particularly for well-structured, fully escorted small group journeys, D’Aucourt said.

“Our South America program continues to appeal to a consistent demographic. Guests are typically aged 55 to 85, with a strong mix of retired couples and friend groups, and solo bookings remaining consistent year on year.”

What’s on offer

South America

With each South America itinerary now a small group tour with no more than 24 guests, APT offers an immersive experience in the region’s most spectacular landscapes through Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru. APT’s 2027/2028 program features the 19-day Best of South America itinerary, back by popular demand.

“South America offers an extraordinary mix of culture and natural beauty,” D’Aucourt said. “Our tours focus on bringing together the region’s standout experiences in a way that is enriching and unforgettable.”

The Best of South America itinerary has been refined to now start in Rio, Brazil’s most visited city. Highlights of this tour are APT’s signature experiences, including the Tango and Tapas night in Buenos Aires, and a farm-to-table lunch in the Sacred Valley, carefully created to experience the authenticity of each destination. Prices start from $20,295 per person.

For those wanting to explore Peru in more depth, guests can now also extend their tour, on the 23-day Best of South America with Belmond Andean Explorer Train. A standout part of this itinerary is the two-night stay in the World Heritage-listed city of Arequipa, known as the ‘White City’ for its dazzling white-stone buildings and abundant sunshine.

Another highlight is the two-night luxury rail journey through the Peruvian Highlands, where guests travel along the world’s highest rail route aboard the elegant Belmond Andean Explorer, with tour prices starting from $28,795 per person.

Guests seeking an even longer journey, the Best of South America with Belmond Andean Explorer & Galapagos Cruise offers an immersive 31-day experience. Cruising aboard the modern expedition Yacht La Pinta in true luxury, guests immerse themselves in the spectacular flora and fauna across the surrounding Islands with snorkelling opportunities and land excursions. Prices start from $42,995 per person.

Antarctica

Guests can also experience an adventure of a lifetime, with the return of the 15-day Antarctic Voyage, an exceptional expedition with land touring travelling in comfort as part of a larger group. Cruising through the Antarctic Peninsula aboard the ultra-luxurious Seabourn Venture, guests encounter penguins, seals and whales across Antarctica’s pristine wilderness, with immersive experiences including zodiac cruises and guided shore landings led by expert naturalist guides.

With the services of an expert APT Tour Director and expedition team, guests can explore the region’s remote landscapes with ease. Prices start from $25,995 per person based on 2028 pricing, including savings of up to $4,800 per couple.
