The APT Travel Group has raised just over $7,000 through its annual fundraiser, a significant result well beyond its original $3,000 goal and surpassing last year’s total of $6,500 in support of Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea.

With The APT Travel Group now taking part for its second consecutive year, the initiative continues a broader legacy of participation within the business, while building momentum as a key annual fundraising moment for staff. Contributions were further amplified through OneTomorrow, The APT Travel Group’s not-for-profit charitable fund, which doubled every dollar raised by staff to extend the impact of staff giving.

“Our people have once again shown incredible generosity in getting behind this cause,” OneTomorrow coordinator Craig James said. “To not only exceed our goal but also build on last year’s result is a fantastic achievement and reflects how much this cause resonates with our team.”

At this year’s staff bake-off, around 20 team members took part in a friendly competition celebrating creativity and community spirit, with a coffee cart and prize giveaways creating a shared moment for employees to connect while contributing to a meaningful cause.

“It’s incredibly encouraging to see organisations like The APT Travel Group bring their teams together in support of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea,” Cancer Council guest speaker Simon said. “Events like this highlight the important role workplaces play in driving community-led fundraising and supporting Australians affected by cancer.”

The Biggest Morning Tea is one of Cancer Council’s largest annual fundraising initiatives. According to Cancer Council data, almost one in two Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85, underscoring the importance of ongoing community-driven fundraising efforts. Funds raised through initiatives like this play an important role in advancing research, improving early detection and prevention programs, and ensuring individuals and families impacted by cancer have access to critical support services.

OneTomorrow plays a central role in amplifying these efforts, ensuring staff contributions deliver even greater impact. Guided by its mission, For nature. For humanity. For tomorrow, the foundation supports initiatives that positively contribute to communities and environments around the world, alongside The APT Travel Group’s portfolio of travel brands including APT, Travelmarvel, Botanica World Discoveries, Captain’s Choice and Antarctica Flights.

Funds raised through the Biggest Morning Tea contribute to Cancer Council’s work funding critical research, prevention initiatives and support services, bringing Australia closer to a future with fewer lives impacted by cancer.
