APT Travel Group held its internal Staff Bake-Off fundraiser which successfully raised over $6,000 for Cancer Council Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea initiative – exceeding the original $3,000 target.

The final amount of $6,500 includes OneTomorrow’s, the Group’s Foundation, dollar-for-dollar matching commitment, with APT Travel Group’s not-for-profit charitable fund amplifying the impact of every staff donation for life-saving cancer research across Australia.

The company’s revival of its Biggest Morning Tea tradition saw 20 APT Travel Group staff volunteers showcase their culinary talents in a friendly internal competition, complete with prizes for the top three bakers and a complimentary coffee cart to fuel the festivities.

“We’re absolutely thrilled with the incredible generosity shown by our team,” APT Travel Group COO, Lorna Heyward, said. “What started as a fun way to bring back a beloved tradition has resulted in a significant contribution to cancer research that affects so many Australian families.”

OneTomorrow, with the mission “For nature. For humanity. For tomorrow”, serves as APT Travel Group’s not-for-profit charitable fund, joining brands APT, Travelmarvel, Botanica, Captain’s Choice, and Antarctica Flights in making a positive and enduring impact on nature and communities worldwide.

Cancer Council Australia, the nation’s largest non-government funder of cancer research, has invested nearly $250 million in research initiatives across the country in the past five years alone. The funds raised through APT’s initiative contribute directly to this vital work.

The event exemplifies the travel industry’s commitment to community support and social responsibility, with APT Travel Group and OneTomorrow demonstrating how corporate charitable initiatives can create meaningful impact beyond core business operations.

“This success story shows what’s possible when businesses engage their teams in charitable giving and have the infrastructure to amplify that impact,” Heyward added. “OneTomorrow’s dollar-for-dollar matching ensures every donation from our team goes twice as far in supporting vital causes like cancer research.”

The Biggest Morning Tea is Cancer Council’s signature fundraising event, held annually across Australia to support cancer research, prevention programs, and support services for those affected by cancer.
