Air France to fly to regions with HOP!
By admin

HOP! has been revealed as the name of Air France's new regional airline, as the airline group continues to implement the restructure of its short and medium-haul operations.

From March 31, the new offering will operate 530 daily flights to 136 destinations across France and Europe, with fares starting from 55 euro one-way.

It forms part of the Transform 2015 plan to pull the group's loss-making short and medium-haul operations into the black, by organising them into three "complementary areas of activity" – Air France, HOP! and Transavia France.

Alexandre de Juniac, Air France group chairman and chief executive, said the plan aims to reorganise the company "around the customer".

"The launch of HOP! is a part of this process and is in addition to the initiatives already implemented by Air France to change its offering and adapt to the new needs of travellers," he said.

Meanwhile, HOP! chairman and chief executive, Lionel Guerin, anticipated the new carrier would boost the development of both the economy and tourism in the regions it will serve, while offering "attractive fares".

"Our airline, backed by the Air France group, also benefits from the expertise and professionalism of more than 3,000 employees," he added.
