Korean Air and Amadeus have signed a full content agreement providing travel agencies guaranteed access to the range of fares and inventory through the Amadeus system.

The agreement ensures that Korean Air’s schedules, fares and inventory content are available through all Amadeus points of sale worldwide, including travel agencies and travel management companies. Furthermore, by 2014 the airline will be fully integrated into the Amadeus Alt√©a Suite, including Alt√©a Reservation, Alt√©a Inventory and Alt√©a Departure Control.

It is estimated that by 2015 the Alt√©a system will be responsible for two thirds of all Australian air bookings, offering travel agents on the Amadeus system a seamless and real time link to more than 140 airlines.

Following on from the announcement Amadeus IT Pacific managing director Australia and New Zealand, Sari Vahakoski, said the platform now provides the opportunity for agents to work smarter as well as offering their clients better service.

“Alt√©a provides real time access to airlines’ reservation systems so that agents can use a single passenger name record (PNR), access live seatmaps, stream up-to-the-minute flight information and access the same fare database as the airlines themselves.”
