African safari operator Bench International provided orphaned children with the opportunity to experience local wildlife as part of a two-day visit to Satao Camp in Kenya’s Tsavo East National Park.

Bench arranged for 36 orphans and five teachers from Mombasa New Hope Orphanage to partake in the experience.

The children and teachers had the chance to see majestic animals in the wild with sightings of a lion, cheetah, buffalo, a number of elephants and the resident herd of over 100 impala. The highlight of the trip according to the children was when a herd of over 100 elephants visited the waterhole at their camp.

Bench International chairman, Mike Kirkland said he was delighted to be able to provide this opportunity to the children, not only for their education but also as an important part of their cultural awareness.

Hope Orphanage is one of several charities Bench International supports in Africa, with the organization also providing support for the elephant nursery at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Rhino Ark in Kenya and many more causes.
