Bratton to spearhead Ponant's Asia Pacific growth
By admin

The founder of Orion cruises, Sarina Bratton, will join French cruise line Compagnie du Ponant with growing the Asia Pacific markets to be a major part of her new role.

Bratton, who tepped down from her role as managing director of Orion in April following its acquisition by US-based small ship operator Lindblad Expeditions, has been appointed Australasian chairman of Ponant. The company's international development, specifically in this region, is under her remit.

Her new appointment comes ahead of the arrival of Ponant’s new yacht in Australian waters in 2015, which will take its fleet to four vessels.

Travel the World will remain Ponant’s preferred distribution partner in Australia under the new arrangement, representing a continuation of their six-year relationship.

“Travel the World is proud of the growth that we have achieved working in partnership with Compagnie du Ponant and is delighted with the news of a new yacht bound for Australian waters and the opportunities that it brings,” general manager sales and marketing Michelle Taylor said.

“We are excited to be working with Sarina Bratton and Compagnie du Ponant and continuing our partnership into the future.”
