Don’t turn back on Tassie, operator urges

A Tasmanian adventure operator has urged holidaymakers not to turn their backs on the fire-ravaged state as it stressed that all its tours are operating as normal.

Tasmanian Expeditions, which features walking and rafting packages, said only one itinerary was altered and no tours were cancelled.

"All Tasmanian Expeditions tours are still operating as planned, there are no cancellations and no need to change travel plans," general manager Chris Buykx said. "Tasmania is a large and diverse island and 99% of the state remains open for travel. With cooler weather this week we look forward to the return to regular summer conditions.

"We are pleased to advise that travellers should continue to travel to Tasmania with confidence."
