Dubai to revamp training scheme

Dubai to revamp training scheme
By admin

The Dubai Expert online training scheme is set for a revamp within the next 12 months, with modules for MICE and cruise to be added to its existing syllabus.

Australasia director of Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Julie King, told Travel Today that the scheme currently has 1475 Australian agents registered, but only 430 have graduated.

Linking it with the annual Dubai agent mega famil is one way of boosting completion rates, she revealed.

A dedicated newsletter will also be introduced, to keep interest in the program alive after the initial registration.

Existing content will be upgraded with additional modules to be added for growing sectors such as cruise and MICE in order to capitalise on growing interest in the destination since the much-hyped alliance between Qantas and Emirates got underway earlier this year.

"We want it to stand out and be different," King said. "We're just working out how to acheieve that."
