ICCA reports training increase

The International Cruise Council Australasia (ICCA) has reported an increase in the number of agents that have signed up to its cruise education program in the build up to the summer season, with satisfaction levels hitting new highs.

The cruise body appointed Peter Kollar to the role of training and development manager in February, and subsequently revamped its training scheme with eight new or updated modules for Australia and New Zealand.

Kollar reported that 90% of participants had given the sessions the highest possible rating, with good feedback for their port content and visual features. The overhauled program now includes almost 1000 slides.

“We’re trying to make the training as relevant as possible for agents who are dealing with more customer enquiries that ever as demand for cruise holidays surges,” he said.

“We’ve definitely seen an increase in attendance levels over the past few months as wod filters out about the new and improved modules.”
