New Zealand trade show TRENZ will return to Auckland in 2014, the country’s Prime Minister John Key announced today.

The event will take place between May 18 and 21 on the city’s waterfront, directly after ATE is held in Australia.

Key confirmed Auckland as the host city during an address to media on the closing day of this year’s show.

Travel Industry Association chief executive Martin Sneddon welcomed the decision to return to The Cloud and Shed 10, the location of this year’s event.

“We’ve had a fantastic week in Auckland. Both the international buyers and the New Zealand exhibitors have loved the TRENZ venue, and the ease of access to Auckland’s hotels, restaurants and entertainment has been great,” he said.

TIA said “new elements” will be added to the 2014 program.
