A new web series, Andy & Ben Do Mexico, has been unveiled by Sydney-based branded content house, Projucer.

The series features the 2012 winner of MasterChef Australia, Andy Allen, and series finalist, Ben Milbourne, on an insightful culinary journey through Mexico.

Supported by partners Intrepid Travel, Old El Paso and Travel Insurance Direct, the mates from MasterChef are the vehicles for the YouTube housed series that was shot in 2013.

The series was filmed when the boys joined one of Intrepid Travel’s Real Food Adventure tours, which saw them eat their way through Mexico City, Puebla, Oaxaca, numerous Pacific Coast locations and the higher Chiapas region.

“It’s been a dream of mine and Ben since we met a couple of years ago to travel to Mexico to explore its diverse range of food and culture,” said Allen.

“It was such a cool feeling to see and touch the things we’d only read about in books.”

Josh Capelin of Projucer said the project was a great way to combine the boys’ popularity with the easily accessible YouTube platform, to give Aussies a better understanding of Mexican food and culture, and highlight Mexico as a stimulating holiday location.

“Fans of Andy & Ben have been waiting to see the boys in action again after MasterChef,” said Capelin.

“These digitally strategic and socially-savvy partners are a perfect fit for the series that is part food, part travel, part adventure and part discovery.”

The five episode series will be released once a week over a five week period, with big things in store for the boys following this project.

Projucer will launch this much anticipated web series on Thursday May 22 via Andy Allen’s official YouTube channel – www.youtube.com/andyallencooks.
