Midweek Interview: Gill Gaspar, Spain & Portugal Travel Connection

Midweek Interview: Gill Gaspar, Spain & Portugal Travel Connection
By admin

The challenge for the industry is… to show the value of our knowledge and be confident to charge for it like every other industry.

The things I like about my job are… the pleasure I get from helping others explore two of the world's most fascinating countries, Spain and Portugal, and most recently, having the opportunity to create a completely new wholesale program, Spain and Portugal Travel Connection.

And the frustrations… time spent away from family.

If I didn't work in travel I would be a… winemaker

Qantas or Virgin?….. I am neither sorry!

My proudest moment was… there have been three – the birth of each of my three daughters.

The naughtiest thing I ever did was… I never did anything naughty; it was my evil twin brother!

I try to relax by… reading.

The last time I feared for my life… while trying to get a drink at a travel industry event during happy hour.

If I can, I always try to avoid… cheap wine.

I really wish I had… a vineyard.

The best advice I've ever received was… happy wife happy life!

I don't understand why… I don't get upgraded just by asking!

My greatest weakness is… my passion.

And my greatest strength… my passion.

If I was prime minister I would… resign.

If I won $1 million on the lottery I would… buy a vineyard.

If I could be someone else for one day I would be… Richard Branson.

I've always wanted to travel to… Antarctica.

My favourite holidays were… Blackcomb / Whistler in BC, Canada for Christmas and New Years Eve, and a glorious week spent in the Pousadas in the Alentejo region, visiting some of Portugals best vineyards.
