The latest statistics from the International Air Transport Association show growth in the number of passengers travelling in premium seats on international markets slowed in March, rising 1.9% compared to a year ago, down on the February rise of 4.1%.

Although the demand backdrop for premium travel remains positive on balance, rates of improvement in business conditions have slowed.

 

Cathay Pacific has made three new directorial appointments, effective from the summer of 2014.

General manager China Dane Cheng will take up the role of director sales and marketing with worldwide responsibility for both Cathay and Dragonair. General manager inflight James Ginns will become director service delivery, overseeing Cathay’s service both on the ground and in the air.

James Tong, currently general manager revenue, will become director corporate affairs as Chitty Cheung departs to pursue “other interests”.

 

Globus and Cosmos have unveiled previews of their 2015 North American tour programs, announcing an early release for some of their most popular itineraries in the USA and Canada.

The selection includes more than a dozen different holidays across the east and west coasts of North America, including top-selling tours combining the Rocky Mountaineer railway with Alaskan cruises.

 

A new water park at the Novotel Twin Waters Resort is expected to boost the Sunshine Coast property’s appeal for families.

It features a series of inflatable slides, runways, jumping pillows and structures connected together and floating on the hotel’s lagoon.

Disney will host a series of seminars for travel agents in June in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland, to equip agents with the insight and tools to sell its destinations.

The Disney Days will take place in Auckland on June 9; Melbourne on June 10; Sydney on June 11;  and Brisbane on June 17.

 

Silversea Expeditions has launched an Antarctica and New Zealand Sub-Antarctic 2014/15 brochure featuring Silver Discoverer’s inaugural Sub-Antarctic voyages commencing in November 2014.
