Garry Filmer has retired from his position as chief operating offer of Regional Express (Rex) with Neville Howell, formerly chief pilot and general manager flight operations, promoted to the role.

The changes took effect yesterday.

 "The board wishes to place on record its gratitude for Garry's outstanding leadership during the past 2 years which saw Rex face some of the toughest challenges it has known," a statement said

 

Innstant Travel has added approximately 10,000 hotels to their inventory which is considered one of the largest in the world totaling more than 240,00 properties.

The addition came in response to global client feedback as part of their ongoing product enhancement process.

2190 of the new hotels have been added in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific islands. 

 

China’s Fu Wah International Group marks its first foray into the Australian property market on Monday as they celebrate the successful purchase of Melbourne’s Park Hyatt Hotel.

The official handover ceremony was held at Park Hyatt Hotel between the Government of Singapore Investment Corp (GIC) and Fu Wah International Group and the acquisition had totalled up to $130 million.

 

Tempo Holidays is offering 15% commission to agents on all 2014 and 2105 European river cruise bookings made in July 2014.

In addition Tempo is offering a 2 for 1 deal on some European river cruise packages.

 

In four days time, the quest to name the latest two P&O cruise ships will end after Australians and New Zealanders put forward almost 20,000 suggestions in just one week.

The cruise line says the most common names have been Opal and Diamond each nominated more than 500 times.

 

Mantra Group has announced two new additions to its Brisbane network bringing the total to six hotels in the Queensland capital.

The hotel firm will take on the lease of Observatory Tower, one of Brisbane’s landmark buildings and convert the 24 level residential building into a fully serviced apartment hotel.
