QM2 returns for Australia circumnavigation
By admin

Cunard has confirmed that Queen Mary 2 will circumnavigate Australia for a second time in 2014.

The liner, which sailed around Australia earlier this year, will repeat the voyage starting in Fremantle on February 12, 2014 and finishing in Brisbane on March 16.

QM2 will call at eight ports over 33 days with Fremantle (February 12 and March 6), Sydney (February 19 and March 14), Melbourne (February 17 and March 12) and Brisbane (February 21 and March 16) receiving the liner twice.

Other ports visited by the ship will be the Whitsundays on February 23, Darwin on February 27, Bali on March 2 and Adelaide on March 10.

Pre-registrations will open on August 7 and close on August 17 ahead of an open sale three days later.

“When we announced Queen Mary 2’s first circumnavigation back in 2010 we had a record number of bookings made within the first day.” Cunard president and managing director Peter Shanks said. “Cunard bookings from Australia surged again when she undertook the historic voyage earlier this year.

“We believe Queen Mary 2’s second circumnavigation will be just as popular as the first.”

Four full round trips will be available. A 22-day voyage from Fremantle departing February 12 will cost from $6499 per person twin share with a 23-day trips from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane priced from $6799.
