Qantas, Emirates close to deal

Qantas, Emirates close to deal
By admin

Qantas and Emirates are expected to announce an alliance next week in a deal that could see the Australian carrier withdraw from Frankfurt.

Qantas could, in the longer term, even lease some of its London landing slots to Emirates, according to reports in The Australian.

Qantas has confirmed that alliance talks have taken place with a number of airlines, including Emirates, with a formal deal close.

Reports suggest Qantas will codeshare on Emirates flights out of Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to Dubai and into Europe. Emirates serves 32 European destinations.

The deal will also include reciprocal frequent flyer points but is not thought to involve equity.
