Qantas-SAA in renewed codeshare attempt

Qantas-SAA in renewed codeshare attempt
By admin

Qantas has submitted a new application to continue its codeshare with South African Airways between Australia and South Africa.

The airline last month withdrew its request for a judicial review of its unsuccessful application, instead requesting interim authorisation for the agreement to continue until March 31 2013.

In an application to the International Air Services Commission dated yesterday, general counsel Brett Johnson requested Qantas be allocated seven frequencies per week in each direction on the Australia-South Africa route, the same number that it currently holds.

The application also asks that the new determination include a condition allowing SAA to codeshare on Qantas-operated flights between Australia and South Africa until March 31 2016.
