The school holidays are officially over, and with the kids now back in class, Wotif.com has sifted through the trail of reviews left by family travellers to uncover the top family stays in Australia.

Based on recent feedback, the company has compiled a list of the 10 best family apartments and holiday parks down under, with Queensland taking out the top spots for family holiday destinations.

Home to seven out of the top 10 recommended holiday venues, and with five located on the Gold Coast, Wotif.com’s product director Donna Rodios says Queensland is in a class of its own.

“Queensland is certainly top of the class when it comes to delivering great places for families to spend their holidays,” she said.

“The Gold Coast offers families an exciting holiday playground with everything from sunny beaches, theme parks and plenty of day-trip activities to choose from but it’s the location, value and facilities which set each of the top 10 spots apart.”

A perceptible trend in the results showed that Aussie families are partial to a bit of luxury when on holiday, with top rated Soul Surfers Paradise and Peppers Broadbeach highlighting this tendency.

Mantra’s CEO Bob East says these kinds of properties have been consistently popular with families in recent years.

“Together, Soul and Peppers are really offering some of the finest options for families holidaying on the Coast,” he said.
