The would-be nudists’ guide to holidaying ‘au natural’!
Okay, so a nudists’ guide might be taking it a little far, but the reality is that all you will need at these jaw-droppingly beautiful resorts is a swimsuit, a towel and maybe a book.
The idea is to leave all thoughts of money behind, as you embrace the cash-free holiday experience – all the while enjoying sweeping views across the bright blues of the Indian Ocean.
Even better, at the ultra-luxurious Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives there won’t be any surprise bills when it’s time to check-out.
But if the words “all-inclusive” make you green at the gills with the thought of sweaty buffets, cut-price booze and conga lines around the swimming pool, then think again.
This is next generation, next level all-inclusive. Think champagne breakfasts, island excursions, sunset cruises, water sports and daily spa credits – only they’re all included.
Check out our favourite five totally included experiences at this little island paradise:
1) Whale shark tour
You don’t need to go far to discover the miracles of the ocean at this resort – it has got its own house reef just off the shore. But if you would like to venture a little deeper and have a magical encounter with the local whale sharks, and maybe some dolphins thrown in for good measure, then this is the tour for you. You may even be able to swim alongside the gentle giants.
2) Discover a sunken shipwreck
Scuba divers will be able to explore the wreck of the Kudhimaa, a cargo ship that was deliberately sunk to provide a home for marine species. There is easy access for divers to the cargo holds, and the wreck is home to schools of batfish, puffer fish, boxfish and large lionfish. The resort is the first in the South Ari Atoll to be awarded Green Fins certification, a programme of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Reef-World Foundation that recognises environmentally responsible diving.
3) Pamper time in the spa
Oceanfront Spa Cenvaree is the perfect sanctuary in the midst of this tropical idyll. And with a daily credit of US$100, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to try out all that it has to offer – body scrubs, a whole array of massages, Vichy hydrotherapy facilities and plunge pools. targeting different parts of the body.
There are also couples suites and an outdoor overwater venue dedicated to the art of Thai massage.pools. Scheduled yoga sessions are also available beachside and at the fitness centre.
4) Wind down with a sunset cruise
What better way to unwind after a tough day at the beach than a sunset cruise with a cool glass of champagne in hand? You’ll glide across the ocean in a traditional dhoni enjoying the spectacular colours over the water as you snack on canapés. Or, you can opt for the sunset fishing tour, and take in the exact same scene only with a rod in hand. You may even catch your dinner!
5) Let the kids run free at Camp Safari
It’s lovely to spend time with the kids on holiday, but sometimes relaxation time by the pool just isn’t on their agenda – they need a little extra stimulation. Here’s where Camp Kids comes in – kids aged between four and nine will be given a number of activities to complete keeping them occupied while you enjoy a few indulgent hours all to yourself.
And if you fancy a change of scenery, and a further shot of luxury, although with slightly different inclusions, try Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa, also in the Maldives. Or head a little further afield and soak up the diverse and rich culture at Centara Ceysands Resort & Spa in Sri Lanka.
To sell Centara with more confidence refer to the Travel Industry Guide or complete the Centara e-learning modules to become a Centara Ambassador.
