AFTA backs Tourism Australia’s new specialist program for agents

Kangaroo on Kangaroo Island, South Australia.

The Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) has thrown its support behind Tourism Australia’s new online program designed to help agents sell domestic tourism experiences.

Launched today, the Aussie Specialist Program is an agent-specific resource to empower frontline travel sellers with the knowledge they need to optimise promotion and sales of domestic travel as COVID-19 domestic travel restrictions lift.

Agents who successfully complete five of the program’s training modules become a qualified ‘Aussie Specialist’.

AFTA said in a statement that it was working closely with Tourism Australia to align the new training resource with agent needs so that consultants are in the box seat to promote holidays at home to Aussie travellers.

“AFTA thanks Tourism Australia for this important initiative and looks forward to continuing to work with Tourism Australia to support travel agents especially during these challenging times,” the association said.
