APT announces the return of Queensland Expedition Cruising

APT has announced the return of Queensland Expedition Cruising for 2025, in partnership with Coral Expeditions, to explore the iconic Great Barrier Reef.

Travellers can embark on the 8-day Great Barrier Reef Discovery cruise, which includes a seven-night expedition aboard the Coral Discoverer. The small expedition ship ensures an intimate experience of Australia’s natural wonder.

Highlights of the cruise include snorkelling, diving, and swimming with the Great Barrier Reef’s iconic marine life. Guests will also learn about ancient Indigenous culture and Australian heritage at historic Cooktown, visit the turtle rehabilitation centre on Fitzroy Island, and enjoy sunset drinks on the pristine coral sand cay of Sunbury Cay.

The cruise features a dedicated APT cruise director and an expert expedition team. Onboard, guests are treated to delicious chef-prepared meals using local seasonal produce, along with all-inclusive drinks. Experiences include exploring the reef by kayak, glass-bottom boat, or aboard the Xplorer tender vessel, which ensures seamless beach landings for all guests. Prices start from $6,495 per person.

Travellers seeking a more comprehensive adventure can head out on APT’s 13-day Great Barrier Reef with Tropical Queensland Highlights. This tour combines the reef cruise with a 5-night APT 4WD land journey with a maximum of 20 guests.

The land journey explores the vibrant Port Douglas Markets, embarks on a Ngadiku Dreamtime Gorge Walk in the Daintree Rainforest, visit the Paronella Park, and travel on the famous Kuranda Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Prices start from $10,995 per person.
