APT donates more than $100,000 to the Vietnam’s Blue Dragon charity

APT Travel Group has donated more than $100,000 to the Vietnamese charity, Blue Dragon, to support their day-to-day efforts and assist with food and supplies following Typhoon Yagi.

They announced a $10,000 donation for the charity’s disaster relief fund in the aftermath of the devastating typhoon. It followed the $50,000 donation at the annual Blue Dragon Marathon Walk, which was matched by OneTomorrow to achieve a donation of more than $100,000 in total.

In addition to the donation, APT Travel Group worked in partnership with Blue Dragon and the Intrepid Foundation to organise the Melbourne event, which attracted over 400 participants. Among the participants were Blue Dragon founder, Australian teacher Michael Brosowski, ABC Melbourne Breakfast host Sammy J and a team of well-known Melbourne comedians.

APT CEO David Cox said ATG is a strong supporter of Blue Dragon’s mission to end human trafficking in Vietnam. He also said that the additional OneTomorrow donation to those impacted by Typhoon Yagi will assist Blue Dragon roll out food and supplies as well as temporary accommodation to those people who need it most.

“Our continuing relationship with Blue Dragon reflects our strong commitment to supporting local communities in Vietnam and our deepest thoughts are with those locals impacted by this devastating event,” Cox said.

Globally, the Blue Dragon Marathon Walks have already raised over $380,000, with the rescheduled Hanoi walk still to come, having been postponed due to the typhoon.
