Australian Cycle Tours adds new cycle trip to the Murray to the Mountains Rail Trail

Australian Cycle Tours has added a new, extended cycle trip that includes all sections of the popular Murray to the Mountains Rail Trail.

The new trip commences in Beechworth with the first two days cycling with a transfer back to Beechworth, before continuing to Myrtleford and Bright, with a cycle on the newest sections of the Rail Trail out to Yackandandah. The trip is recommended for keen cyclists due to its longer, more difficult cycling days and is ideal for those wanting to cycle the Rail Trail in its entirety.

The 7-days trip costs from $1,380 per person and includes 5-days self-guided cycling, bike hire, 6 nights accommodation, luggage transfers, and route maps. E-bikes and tandem bikes are also available for an additional fee.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 – arrive in Beechworth
  • Day 2 – Cycle to Yackandandah (30 to 40km) before returning to Beechworth
  • Day 3 – Cycle to Wangaratta and then to Milawa (63km), return transfer to Beechworth
  • Day 4 – Cycle to Myrtleford (43km)
  • Day 5 – Cycle to Bright (31km)
  • Day 6 – Loop cycle to Harrietville and back to Bright (56km)
  • Day 7 – Trip ends
