Flight bookings to Bali are up a huge 45 per cent year-on-year, new data from Webjet shows.

The data recorded an increase in bookings for flights to Bali made between 31 August 2023 and 24 June 2024 for travel between 1 July – 31 August 2024, compared to bookings for flights to Bali made between 31 August 2022 and 24 June 2023 for travel between 1 July and 31 August 2023.

The island is set for another spike in tourists this month and next, with bookings for July and August 95 per cent higher than in September and October.

These account for flight bookings to Bali made between 31 August 2023 and 24 June 2024 for travel between 1 July and 31 August 2024, compared to bookings for flights to Bali made between 31 August 2023 and 24 June 2024 for travel between 1 September 2024 and 31 October 2024.

Forget Europe! The stats also show Bali has cemented itself as the No.1 international destination for Aussies again this winter, accounting for one in every four (24 per cent) international flight bookings.

Interestingly older Aussies seem to be slowly falling out of love with destination, says the data, with over 55s accounting for just 22 per cent of bookings this busy season – down from 37 per cent last year.

It’s instead drawing in Aussie families in droves, with family bookings booming by 71 per cent this year.
