AirAsia announces 20% discount for all destinations
AirAsia is offering a 20% discount for all destinations for travel from February through to July.
Book now until 12 February 2017 for travel between 7 February 2017 and 31 July 2017 for low fares to all destinations such as Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, China, Indonesia and many more.
The discount applies to all bookings made through airasia.com, the AirAsia mobile app and AirAsiaGo.
SkyBus Express Commence Service to Avalon Airport
SkyBus will commence the SkyBus Avalon Express from Wednesday 1 February. The dedicated airport bus service will meet all Jetstar departing and arriving flights at Avalon Airport, transporting passengers to and from Melbourne’s CBD on an express service from tomorrow. Importantly, residents in Melbourne’s west will be provided with enhanced access to Avalon via a new SkyBus stop at the Werribee RSL, Synnot Street, Werribee.
Adult one-way fares between Avalon Airport and Melbourne’s CBD are $22, with return trips costing $42. Families can take advantage of SkyBus’ discounted fares. As on all SkyBus services, children 16 and under travel free when they are booked with an adult fare.
Tickets can be purchased online, via smartphone or at dedicated e-kiosks at Avalon Airport or Southern Cross Station’s Airport Gateway.

Historic moment for Qatar Airways with launch of record-breaking Auckland Service
Qatar Airways flight touched down on the North Island of New Zealand, just after sunrise on of the country’s most significant days of the year – Waitangi Day. Celebrations to commemorate the launch of the world’s longest commercial flight, which takes 17 hours and 30 minutes and covers a distance of 14,535 kilometres, began at the airport with a traditional water salute as the Qatar Airways Boeing 777 taxied down the runway.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker travelled on board the inaugural flight from Doha to Auckland and was welcomed by The Hon Todd McClay, New Zealand’s Minister of Trade and State Owned Enterprises; and Auckland Airport Chief Executive, Mr. Adrian Littlewood.
Passengers travelling on the inaugural flight were welcomed on board with special cupcakes, in addition guests travelling in Business Class received a celebratory Kiwi Rose Fizz mocktail, both created to commemorate the new service. Bespoke menu cards and beverage lists inspired by a traditional Maori carving were also designed especially for the occasion.
The Doha-Auckland-Doha daily services will offer 116 tonnes of belly-hold capacity every week to support the growing imports of raw, industrial and consumer materials into New Zealand. At the state-of-the-art Hamad International Airport cargo terminal, Qatar Airways Cargo offers QR Fresh, a seamless temperature-controlled handling and storage solution, to deliver perishable products such as dairy produce, meat and fruits from Auckland into the Middle East and on to major European cities.
