The first of Hawaiin Airlines Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners to join fleet to arrive in 2021
Hawaiian Airlines guests will experience extraordinary on-board comfort when the airlines’ first of 10 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners enters service in the first quarter of 2021.
“Choosing the 787 Dreamliner was very much a decision for our long-term future,” Hawaiian Airlines President and CEO Peter Ingram said.
This modern cabin will provide the perfect setting for Hawaiian’s award winning, authentic hospitality. The Dreamliner’s excellent fuel efficiency makes the 787-9 an ideal choice for Hawaiian’s long-haul Asia/Pacific and North America routes.

Hawaii Airlines commitment to reef health
Hawaiian Airlines’ range of environmental activities includes a commitment to protect its island home as well as the global environment. On the home front these efforts include partnering with Raw Elements USA, which produces a certified-natural, chemical-free, reef-safe sun care products.
Hawaiian is airing an educational in-flight video, Reefs at Risk, to educate guests on the impact of sunscreen on Hawai‘i’s coral reefs. Raw Elements’ “Eco Formula” sunscreen is also available at a discounted in-flight price.
“Hawai‘i is a very special place, and we believe it is our kuleana, or responsibility, to care for our home,” Avi Mannis, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Hawaiian Airlines, said. “Through our partnership with Raw Elements, we encourage guests to join us in reducing the human impact on these delicate coral ecosystems.”

Hawaiian Airlines brings culture-based education onboard its aircraft
Hawaiian Airlines is bringing on-board inspiring stories showcasing the power of culture-based native Hawaiian education in a series of exclusive in-flight videos. Guests on board Hawaiian can learn how educators are turning Hawaii’s streams, fishponds and the voyaging canoe Hōkūle‘a into immersive classrooms while using traditional Hawaiian practices to empower youth.
The engaging new series was produced by Kanaeokana, a network of over 50 local schools and organizations focused on strengthening Hawaiian education.
Kanaeokana’s videos are available through June on all of Hawaiian’s international flights operated by the airline’s Airbus A330 aircraft including flights from Sydney and Brisbane to Honolulu
