Biggest recruitment shake up of the year

Travel industry alum, Andrew Chan is back on the Aussie scene with the launch of a new venture positioned to rival recruitment competitors.

Having established three ACI HR Solutions offices in Asia-Pacific in just three years, Founder & CEO Andrew Chan’s latest Sydney office is one of two new openings this year, with a UK branch earmarked for mid-2016.

The first Australian division will be overseen by longstanding hospitality exec, Kathy Fatseas, who will be based in the company’s head office located in Australia Square, Sydney. Offering a complete “360 of the entire tourism and travel sector, including lifestyle” ACI HR Solutions will be strategically targeting only mid-management and above placements.

Chan said a move into Australia had always been part of the overall ACI HR Solutions blueprint since he founded the company in 2012, and said 2016 proved to be the opportune time to do so.

“In the early stages while based in Asia, I wanted to consolidate what ACI has been doing well and fully establish the brand in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore before taking the next step,” according to Chan.

“The timing is right for us in an economic sense too.”

“Australia synergises with our business to offer clients and candidates a complete network across Asia Pacific.”

“It complements our existing network of offices in Asia and offers both clients and candidates in the travel and hospitality sector a true Asia-Pacific network that not too many other specialist industry firms, if in fact any in this part of the world, can boast,” he said.

Chan said while HR was “lagging behind in this industry,” it was “quickly catching up”.

He also commented that the Australian travel sector was very buoyant with “a lot of consolidation”, but earmarked potential growth with a strong hospitality sector on a cusp of a boom, referring to Australia’s integrated resorts and casino’s yet to open.

“We know what gaming and integrated resorts bring to the segment, and see positive times ahead with international arrivals set to increase,” he said.
