Cairns and Queenstown sailing tours named amongst best in world by TripAdvisor

It is not easy to secure a place on TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best lists: out of 8 million listings, fewer than one per cent earn a place on the lists.

The awards for the best sailing and day cruise tours in the world go to those who have secured a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community.

Despite the hot competition, Aussie and Kiwi locals will be thrilled to know that two listings from the ANZ market have made it onto the list of 25 sailing offerings. Here they are:

Premium Milford Sound Small Group Tour from Queenstown (No. 16)

Guests on the group Milford Sound tour will “enjoy stunning scenery and spectacular views along a well-planned itinerary.”

The tour boasts a knowledgeable guide  and comfortable transportation. Guests get a truly personalized experience with educational (but still fun) activities, photo ops at scenic spots, and a delicious lunch.

Rhys Utting, general manager at Cheeky Kiwi Travel, expressed his pride in the team’s achievement: “This is an awesome feat for our team to be recognised with Tripadvisor’s highest accolade. Being placed in the top 1 per cent of providers worldwide is just incredible. A massive congratulations goes out to our entire team – not just our passionate guides, but also our bookings and customer care team, operations, maintenance and marketing staff who always go the extra mile for our guests.”

Great Barrier Reef Snorkelling and Diving Cruise from Cairns (No. 22)

Frankly, it would be criminal to have a list of sailing tours and not have the Great Barrier Reef on the list. Not only does this 8 hour excursion from Cairns allow domestic and international tourists to see the incredible reef itself, but they can also learn about it from an on-board biologist. Guests also get to have a dive and a great lunch afterwards. The helpful crew ensures safety for its guests and respect for the reef.
