Edited by Travel Weekly

Cathay Pacific is set to redefine premium economy seating with an upcoming fleet of Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

The Hong Kong-based international airline began offering premium economy seats in 2012 and looks to implement major changes beginning 2027. These changes are designed to make customers more comfortable on long-haul flights.

    Better seating

The new ergonomic seats include better seat padding and leg rests for improved comfort and wing-shaped headrests for a sense of privacy. They have moved the reading lamp from above the passenger to the seat to accommodate a seated or reclined reading position. Tables are now also accessible automatically with the use of buttons for a more premium experience.

Cathy Pacific partnered with various Hong Kong restaurant groups to meet ever-changing traveller palettes. Some partnerships include Italian comfort food Pirata, traditional Hong Kong flavours from Duddell’s, and vegetarian restaurant groups Veda and Plant Sifu.

Complementing this updated menu is a wine selection from several of China’s leading winemakers. These include Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite’s Domaine de Long Dai 2020.
