Cruise Month has officially arrived, marking the beginning of an exciting summer cruise season across Australia and New Zealand.

The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) launched its month-long campaign today, designed to inspire new enthusiasm for cruising and direct consumers toward CLIA-member travel agents.

The campaign is split into four themed weeks, each spotlighting a different cruising option, ranging from river cruising to expedition and luxury cruising.

Ocean Cruise Week kicks off the festivities today.

As part of the campaign, CLIA will run an expanded social media push using the hashtag #LoveCruise, along with digital advertising aligned with each week’s theme.

Additionally, CLIA-member travel agents will have the chance to win a travel package to the prestigious CLIA Awards gala dinner by hosting their own Cruise Month events.

Joel Katz, CLIA Managing Director in Australasia, emphasised that Cruise Month is the perfect way to usher in the busy summer season.

“The number of people cruising is growing, and the diversity of options available now means there’s more choice than ever before,” Katz said. “Ocean Cruise Week will highlight the broad appeal cruising holds, especially among younger generations and multi-generational travel groups.”

To help CLIA members leverage the campaign, a new Cruise Month toolkit has been made available which includes branded content like logos, social media tiles, videos, banners, and customizable promotional materials for travel agents to engage customers.

CLIA will also host webinars, allowing agents to deepen their product knowledge and capitalize on the latest cruise trends and opportunities.
