Club Med Musandam is newest addition to the resort group and a first for the Middle East
Club Med has announced the newest addition to its Exclusive Collection portfolio with the opening of Club Med Musandam, the first Club Med resort in the Middle East.
Set to be unveiled in 2028, the development of Club Med Musandam marks a significant investment milestone, surpassing the $100 million mark.
A ground-breaking development as a result of a collaborative partnership between esteemed operators, Club Med, Royal Court Affairs and Omran Group, the all-inclusive Club Med Musandam is poised to make significant contributions to the Oman region, creating job opportunities for locals and opportunities in sustainable growth.
“We are very excited to announce the addition of Club Med Musandam to our Exclusive Collection Portfolio, the first ever Club Med resort in its region,” Club Med Pacific general manager Michelle Davies said.

“Contributing to the development of the local communities in which our resorts are located is an integral part of our ethos. We look forward to continuing this ambition in Oman.”
Nestled on the Musandam Peninsula at the extreme northeast of the Arabian Peninsula, the resort is 2.5 hours from Dubai International Airport, making it an attractive destination for international travellers.
The 300-room resort will be a pioneer of the Exclusive Collection portfolio, Club Med’s premium product offering. Club Med Musandam will strongly reflect the Oman culture with the resort’s interiors, entertainment, food and beverage inspired by the location, climate and cultures of the region.
Fun family activities will create a warm and inclusive environment together with quiet private spaces that will co-exist in a complete holiday offering. For families, this will translate into world-class kids’ clubs with tailored facilities and certified staff for children of all ages.
Active guests can expect a diverse array of land and water activities, including tennis, padel, archery, scuba diving, snorkelling, sailing, kayaking and more.
For those looking at wellness, the resort will offer a full holistic well-being experience. A real sanctuary allowing guests to reconnect with themselves, the facilities will include spa, fitness centre, yoga school and an adult-only Zen pool where guests can find the perfect peace, relaxation, and rejuvenation.
Aim to bring 11 million tourists to Sultanate by 2024
Oman’s Heritage and Tourism Board aims to bring 11 million tourists to the Sultanate by 2024, and the development of Club Med Musandam is instrumental to the goal.
“The history and success of Club Med lies on its pioneer approach, strongly contributing to the development of regions and areas where it has been implementing. The project of Club Med Musandam is a key milestone as it is our first presence in the Middle East,” Club Med President Henri Giscard d’Estaing said.
More than 400 direct jobs and an additional 800 indirect jobs will be generated by Club Med Musandam, helping the local economy and families with work opportunities. Throughout its development, in multiple execution phases, the project will employ about 1,000 people, providing a significant boost to the job market in Oman and in Musandam Governorate in particular.
“This collaboration with Club Med is an important step that is in line with the objective of Omran vision 2040 aiming at bringing 11 million tourists in Oman to boost the inflow of international tourists to the Sultanate” Minister of Heritage and Tourism H.E. Salim bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi said.
In line with Club Med’s commitment to eco-certifying the construction of all its new resorts, Club Med Musandam will aim to achieve a BREEAM certification or the destinations local equivalent. The new resorts operations will also adhere to Green Globe standards, an international and independent sustainable tourism certification already accredited to the majority of Club Med resorts worldwide.
Sustainability is a key consideration to Club Med and the project embraces environmental stewardship by spearheading it’s Happy to Care Program, an initiative that has Club Med implement a range of eco-friendly initiatives such as removing single use plastic and reducing food waste across the resort.
