On the road again! Compass Expeditions’ 4wd tours officially hit the market
Edited by Travel Weekly

After recently announcing the new partnership between Evolution Travel Collective (ETC) and Compass Expeditions, the company has just launched its range of small group 4wd tours.

A series of 8 fully guided tours ranging from 13-21 days will be available across Vietnam, Oman, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, South America and Africa.

“This style of touring really immerses clients into the environment they are travelling, getting off the beaten track much like our motorcycle tours,” Compass Expeditions managing director, Ben Willox said.

“Our team have done the groundwork to ensure every tour is pre-driven, every hotel stayed in, and every excursion experienced before the itinerary is published.

“Guests can choose to self-drive or join the tour as a passenger in a vehicle driven by Compass Expeditions staff. Either way they will be provided with the most immersive vantage point for these intriguing and unique destinations.”

Ingrid Berthelsen, ETC’s managing director and co-founder explained that, “With a total of 6 vehicles per tour and maximum 20 guests per departure, Compass Expeditions provides a new unique way to travel in a small group setting.

“We are excited to be working with the Compass Expeditions team to bring this new style of touring to travel agencies across Australia.”

The 4wd tours will include;

  • Accommodation in best-available style lodgings for the region
  • 4wd vehicles
  • Shorter driving days
  • Picnic lunches & delicious 3-course dinners highlighting the local cuisine
  • Out of vehicle excursions

Compass Expeditions 4wd tours are now available to book for departures next year with the first tour, Kyrgyzstan Discovered, departing 4 August 2024.
