Cruiseabout, Flight Centre Travel Group’s (FCTG) flagship retail cruise brand, celebrated the opening of its first store in Adelaide at Westfield West Lakes.

The store is the brand’s third shopfront in Australia after officially relaunching the brand in April this year.

Cruiseabout general manager, Brad Kennedy, said the opening marks yet another milestone in the brand’s strong re-entry into market.

“We’ve seen fantastic success in our existing Gold Coast and Perth stores, and we’re keen to see this replicated in our new Adelaide shopfront as we welcome our first customers,” he said.

“Our advisors are seasoned cruisers who are genuinely passionate about helping their customers find the right holiday, so you can expect a service that is tailored to you, and not simply based on the most popular deals.

“Cruising is increasingly becoming a top holiday choice globally and we’re continuing to book holidays for both long-time and first-time cruisers, which is really exciting.”

Ignite Travel Group CEO, Ryan Thomas, said cruise is one of the fastest growing travel segments globally, and the expansion of Cruiseabout is key to the Group tapping into this part of the market.

“Cruising has been a key contributor to our growth over the past 12 months and we don’t see any signs of slowing down as we continue to welcome new cruisers and suppliers. With 50 new cruise ships sailing the water in the next five years globally, the capacity and opportunity is huge.

“Our decision to open a store in Adelaide comes as we recognise the size and potential of the market, with over 47,000 South Australians enjoying a cruise in 2023.”

Scentre Group Regional Centre Experience manager, Marteine Edwards, said the group is excited to welcome the brand’s first South Australian store to the centre.

“We are excited to announce the arrival of Cruiseabout at Westfield West Lakes. The new Cruiseabout store is a first for Westfield in South Australia and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to offering brands and experiences that align with our customers’ interests.”
