An AU $3.3 billion expansion plan is about to begin at Disneyland Paris that will deliver new themed lands, cutting-edge attractions and a revitalised resort experience.

The renovation project is part of The Walt Disney Company’s wider strategy to enhance its theme parks worldwide, ensuring they remain competitive and appeal to a new generation of visitors.

A new era for Disneyland Paris

Spearheading the expansion will be Disney Adventure World at Walt Disney Studios Park. The new look park will feature themed lands inspired by beloved franchises, including Frozen and The Lion King.

Adventure Bay, the central lake area within Disney Adventure World, will serve as a hub for entertainment, connecting these new lands and offering breathtaking nighttime shows with synchronised fountains, drones, and high-definition projections.

The luxurious Disneyland Hotel will also be revamped as part of the expansion plans.

Expansion highlights

The expansion promises to enhance Disneyland Paris’s appeal with key additions:

  • The World of Frozen: Opening in 2026, this land will transport guests to the enchanting kingdom of Arendelle, featuring a reimagined Frozen Ever After ride, a themed restaurant, and a retail experience.
  • The Lion King Land: Announced in 2024, this area will include a spectacular log flume ride that takes visitors on a journey through the African savanna alongside beloved characters like Simba and Timon.
  • Disneyland Hotel Renovation: A complete revamp of the luxurious Disneyland Hotel has elevated its offerings, providing an unparalleled stay for guests.
  • Disney Tales of Magic Nighttime Show: This nightly extravaganza debuted in early 2025, blending ultra-bright lasers, drones and synchronised water displays to create an unforgettable spectacle.

Disneyland Paris – Europe’s first theme park

Opened in 1992, Disneyland Paris was Disney’s first theme park in Europe. Initially met with scepticism, it has grown into an iconic destination, home to beloved attractions such as Space Mountain: Mission 2, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The resort’s fairytale-like Sleeping Beauty Castle, inspired by French châteaux, remains a focal point for millions of visitors annually.

Over the years, the resort has expanded to include Walt Disney Studios Park, which introduced attractions like Ratatouille: The Adventure and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, offering a mix of family-friendly and thrilling experiences.
