Flight Centre hosts first of its kind event at Brisbane HQ

The festive folk over at Flight Centre have hosted a big bash at its Brisvegas HQ in preparation for travel’s return.

More than 250 suppliers converged on Flight Centre Travel Group’s office on Thursday, which the company has heralded as the first in-person event of its kind since the global pandemic began.

The group’s Aussie managing director James Kavanagh said the event was a chance to come together and plot the path forward as a collective.

“We’ve always been proud of the relationships and collaboration we’ve been able to curate with our suppliers,” he said.

“The pent-up demand across land, sea, and air is remarkable – leisure and business travellers have been waiting for the best part of two years to get back out there to see the world, to hug family and friends, to win business and hire new talent.”

Kavanagh said the demand for travel is also being matched by a renewal of the modern traveller’s appreciation of having a travel management company on their side throughout the process as they navigate the post-COVID travel environment.

“This event gave us the perfect opportunity to align with our suppliers to ensure we continue to be best placed for a recovery in travel as we aim to go above and beyond the needs of our customers,” he continued.

“FCTG has always strived to be ahead of the curve and our excitement for a strong return to travel is replicated by our passion to strengthen our supplier partnerships even further and that will, in turn, deliver a better all-round experience for our travellers.

“I’d like to thank all our supply partners for joining us in person at our global HQ in Brisbane today and we look forward to forging even stronger relationships with them going forward.”
