Flight Centre launches new range of branded travel insurance products

Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) has launched a new range of branded travel insurance products, bookable through Flight Centre, Travel Associates and Cruiseabout in Australia, with other markets to launch in the coming months.

The exclusive travel insurance range is backed by global provider Europ Assistance and allows FCTG’s core leisure brands to market a travel insurance product designed specifically for its key demographics and market segments.

The range of travel insurance brand products includes:

  • Flight Centre Travel Insurance Powered by Europ Assistance
  • Travel Associates Travel Insurance Powered by Europ Assistance
  • Cruiseabout Travel Insurance Chartered by Europ Assistance

FCTG Global Leisure CEO, James Kavanagh, said the new product range offers a more comprehensive and tailored insurance coverage for peace of mind when travelling.

“Our customers put immense trust in us to bring their travel experiences to life, and we firmly believe comprehensive travel insurance is a core part of this experience,” Kavanagh said.

“We believe this is a world class travel insurance offering for protection and peace of mind, and ultimately this will mean a better overall holiday experience for our customers.”

The range includes a uniquely developed travel insurance product specific for cruise holidays, as well as inclusions for luxury travellers and families.

Europ Assistance ANZ CEO, Anna Gladman, said the collaboration with FCTG creates a compelling travel insurance offer for Aussie travellers.

“We are thrilled to partner with Flight Centre Travel Group to support Australian travellers on their journeys, with an integrated travel offer that includes insurance,” Gladman said.

“With Europ Assistance’s more than 60 years’ experience supporting travellers, and our extensive global network of partners and medical assistance teams, we are well positioned to provide a tailored and reliable travel insurance solution to Flight Centre Travel Group’s customers.”

For FCTG’s flagship Flight Centre brand, recognised as Australia’s most trusted travel agency*, the launch of Flight Centre Travel Insurance coincides with a new look Captain’s Pack. The pack is Flight Centre’s value added protection, with a 5 per cent discount on Flight Centre Travel Insurance now available in Value, Plus and Cruise tiers.

Andrew Stark

Flight Centre Global managing director, Andrew Stark said more than 75 per cent of Flight Centre customers in Australia attach a Captain’s Pack to their travel booking because it offers extra value and peace of mind.

“Travellers can add a Captain’s Pack to their booking and automatically receive value adds and peace of mind with lost baggage tracking and bonus spending money, with travellers able to scale up their value as they want to include extras such as our 5 per cent discount on travel insurance,” Stark said.

FCTG’s branded range of travel insurance products are now live and ready to book in Australia, with other markets to launch in the coming months. Flight Centre’s Captain’s Pack is available as an add-on to all bookings made in-store from Wednesday 30 October.
