Kii Peninsula has appointed the local Australian destination PR and marketing agency, Gate 7, to showcase the unique and stunning aspect of the region.

Gate 7 will facilitate an increased presence in the Australian market for Kii Peninsula as a key luxury travel destination. The region’s remote and mountainous personal is perfect for travellers looking to discover a unique and authentic experience. They can also soak in the spiritual and deep cultural roots of its three key prefectures., Mie, Nara, and Wakayama.

Sacred sites, immersive cultural experiences, scenic natural beauty, and luxury accommodations are all core elements that make the Kii Peninsula stand out from the urban bustle of populous Japanese hotspots.

“We are delighted to be partnered with Gate 7 at such an exciting time of change and growth in the Australian travel market,” senior managing director, Kii Peninsula, Yasuhiro Nakanishi, said.

“As a travel destination, Kii Peninsula offers an enchanting cultural and spiritual experience set in natural and tranquil landscapes. We can’t wait to see how Gate 7 spotlights all we offer.”

This comes whilst visitation to Japan from Australians continues to climb, becoming the third most visited country by Australian travellers during the first quarter of 2024. This is an increase of 46.3 per cent when compared to the same period in 2019. The demand reflects a growing desire among Australians to immerse themselves in the country’s rich cultural and natural experiences, with the Kii Peninsula offering those up in abundance.

Jo Palmer, Managing Director of Gate 7 said Kii Peninsula’s unique offerings align incredibly well with the Australian travellers’ growing demand for quality cultural experiences.

“Japan is at the top of the bucket list for a large and growing number of Australians and is key priority for us an agency. We are honoured to have this opportunity and determined to drive travel intent for the Kii Peninsula through our PR work. We can’t wait to get started.”
