Globus launches new domestic trip featuring iconic Indian Pacific train

Globus has added a new trip featuring the famous Indian Pacific rail journey to its collection of domestic and New Zealand tours.

Created specifically for local travellers, The Legendary Indian Pacific & Western Australia itinerary will take your clients on a journey through Australia’s outback from Adelaide to Perth with two nights aboard the magical Indian Pacific.

The 10-day itinerary starts in Adelaide and features a day exploring Kangaroo Island, a tour around the famous Barossa Valley, and a journey through the outback on board the Indian Pacific to Perth. During the train journey, guests will catch glimpses of the Nullarbor; the world’s longest straight stretch of railway track.

The Perth leg of the journey includes everything from quokka spotting on Rottnest Island, to discovering the Margaret River region.

The best part is that you can snag a 10 per cent discount for your clients if you book before 31 January 2021 for travel in 2021.

If you book before 31 January 2021, your clients will receive complimentary SafetyNet Protection, giving them the opportunity to cancel with no penalties up to 30 days prior to their trip. They can also amend their holiday up to 24 hours in advance of their tour departure.

To put your client’s minds at ease, numbers will be limited to 24 guests, to allow for comfortable physical distancing. New on-trip protocols and procedures have also been put in place to mitigate the risk of infection, including pre-trip health screenings for staff and guests, daily disinfecting, reduced luggage handling and pre-screening each restaurant, activity and accommodation to ensure it’s safe.

Globus Family of Brands’ managing director for Australasia, Gai Tyrrell, said: “The response to our collection of new trips has been really encouraging, with group and individual bookings in both countries.

“We hope to build on this early success and continue to drive momentum with the launch of this beautiful itinerary, which will see guests travelling through the heart of Australia’s outback.”

In other news, Globus Family of Brands has become a signatory of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, joining 45 other tourism partners to fight plastics pollution.

The Global Tourism Plastics Initiative was created to unite the tourism sector behind a common vision to address the root causes of plastic pollution.

“This new partnership with Global Tourism Plastics Initiative is a part of our broader commitment to sustainable travel practices,” Tyrrell said.

“We have been fortunate to share the world with travellers of all walks of life for over 90 years, and it’s our responsibility to protect the people and the places we visit – and cherish – around the world.

“From our corporate offices to our ships, coaches to hospitality partnerships, we’re taking our sustainable travel commitment to new heights each and every year.”
