Hotel review: Tahiti Intercontinental Resort & Spa

Hotel review: Tahiti Intercontinental Resort & Spa

Room 9/10

The fresh aroma of tropical greeted me upon arrival into the room, most likely due to the darling little array of flowers placed on the desk and the cupboard top. The bed looked like I could get lost in it, which I almost did as the memory foam mattress sunk me gloriously into the soft cushioning.

There were plenty of powerpoints around the room, which was a bonus, and even though I only had one converter with me, it was nice to know there was a heap more sockets if needed.

Walking out onto the small, private balcony I could see the crisp lagoon, so the views of the ocean, the tall palm trees and pool area were rather relaxing.

While a lovely room, I must admit, I was a bit perturbed there wasn’t a kettle and somewhere to make tea, however that’s only something completely minor (possibly not common here), and was vastly overshadowed when I stepped underneath the massive shower nozzle into the scalding water.

Facilities 9/10

Honestly, I couldn’t find much of a fault with this kind of luxury, however there was some refurbishing being done at the time so many of us were required to walk out onto the road for a bit and then come back in to find our rooms. A very small hiccup.

However, the resort seemed to offer anything you could ever need. Spas, relaxation, a gym, beaches, tropical fish swimming around, amazing views, grassland and just genuine people.

Service 10/10

Many of the male workers were shirtless, which, although a little startling at first, was soon realised how practical it was due to the stickiness of the air outside.

It seemed to be smiles all round, and every staff member I met spoke English as well, which was a welcome sound after my failed attempts at trying to say something basic in French.

Value for money 9/10

If you’ve got the money to spend, I would highly recommend the Intercontinental Resort & Spa, if you’re after stunning views, helpful people and a good ol’ lounge by the pool.
