How can travel agents best sell cruises? Uniworld’s Alice Ager tells all: Travel Weekly TV
Edited by Travel Weekly

If you’re a travel agent, this is the episode for you! The managing director of Uniworld in Australia and New Zealand, Alice Ager joins us for Travel Weekly TV this week and she has some great advice on how to maximise your cruise bookings.

And she’s not only talking about Uniworld… so jump on in!

Too often, Alice says, new cruisers are sold the wrong product and that is more than likely enough to put them off cruising for life.

“I hate that,” Ager says.

“For me, I am all about helping travel agents match the right person to the right product the first time.

“When we get it right, we get a customer for life, and they will have a client that trusts them and believes in them and will follow their guidance for the rest of time.

“Look at your client, what hotels do they book?

“What kind of hotels interest them and do they like?

“So if you’re sending customers to London and putting them in Goring Hotel, which is destination inspired, you’re going to walk in and feel like you’re London, put them on a Uniworld because that’s exactly what we do.”

Ager also made some interesting points on what to do when all hope on a destination may seem lost!

“We know the clock is ticking, It’s very hard to get a great hotel in Greece now for July this year,” Ager said.

“Suggest something else, suggest a med cruise, suggest another destination whether it’s Croatia or somewhere else.

“That’s our job, because if we get them to cruise and we’ve chucked them in the last hotel that’s available and they don’t like it, you’ve lost your credibility

“So be brave, speak up and make alternative suggestions.
