How Steven Bradbury failed

How Steven Bradbury failed

But how could an Olympic Gold Medalist fail, you ask? Well, failure was a huge part of this ex-olympian’s journey to success.

And, as the rest of our super successful Travel DAZE speakers will attest to, how you fail determines how you will succeed.

Last week, Wendy Wu, founder of Wendy Wu Tours, told us to never become complacent on the road to success. It took a few tries for her company to become successful in different countries – but eventually she wound up more successful than ever.

This is something Steven Bradbury can confirm – having tried and failed more than once before he won gold.

“Australian’s are generally a stubborn bunch.  In order to learn we often need to fail at something first (sometimes more than once) in order to get it right,” he told TW.

We’ve got a bunch of other inspirational speakers lined up to speak at Travel DAZE who, like Bradbury, got it right…eventually.

Dubbed ‘the luckiest gold medalist’, Steven won fans the world over for the honesty and humility he showed after his win. He saw his victory as a reward not for one race, but for a decade of hard work, commitment and sacrifice.

“It took me four Olympic Campaigns, a blade through my leg and a broken neck before I figured out experience and judgement,” he continued.

But after all, failure teaches us some of the most valuable lessons of all, and Bradbury wouldn’t have his success any other way.

“Success without failure and hardship along the way doesn’t taste as sweet,” he added.

To see Bradbury and our other speakers do their thing, snag yourself some tickets here.

Travel DAZE will return to the Belvoir Street theatre on Monday, 25 September 2017 – but to relive last year’s shindig via happy snaps or for other sweet info head here.

You need a letter for your boss on why you should attend/get free tickets/a day off to go? We’ve got you covered here too.

Shout out to our sponsors, you guys are the best! Watch this space for more lessons on failure in the coming days and weeks.
