HR director appointed for soon-to-be-opened luxe Gold Coast hotel

Briony Low has been appointed as the human resources director of The Langham, Gold Coast and The Jewel Residences, Gold Coast, which are scheduled to open in 2022.

Low brings more than a decade of HR experience in the hospitality industry, having held senior roles with Accor, Mercure and Sofitel hotels in Brisbane.

In her most recent role at Hilton Surfers Paradise, Low was part of the leadership team, where her key responsibilities included implementing optimal organisational effectiveness and driving employee engagement.

John O’Shea, who was recently named general manager of The Langham, Gold Coast and The Jewel Residences, Gold Coast, said: “We are excited to have Briony join us, and with her experience in the industry, I am confident that she will be an asset to us, supporting the hotel in its pre-opening stage and driving The Langham’s culture of excellence.”

Strategically located on the beachfront in Surfers Paradise, the luxury hotel and residences are in the central and tallest of the three landmark towers of the Jewel development.

It is the first and largest development with direct beach access to be built on the Gold Coast within the last 30 years.
