The International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney team was lauded with a raft of accolades at the Australian Business Events Association (ABEA) inaugural awards dinner.

As the crowned Venue Team of the Year, ICC Sydney’s team was recognised for its commitment to excellence and employee engagement as they hosted 668 events, welcomed 1.7 million attendees, and developed innovative event experiences during the qualifying period.

ICC Sydney’s RESPECT for People, Places, and Plant and commitment to creating inclusive, sustainable events with the Sustainability Initiative – Social and Cultural award. Three ICC Sydney star talents, Rita Nassar, Yaroslav Lytvynenko and Paul Abanico celebrated their graduation from the ABEA Emerging Leaders Leading Well program.

ICC Sydney CEO, Adam Mather-Brown praised the professionalism of the team behind the accolades.

“I’m proud of our achievements, particularly our commitment to creating innovative event experiences that make a difference for our clients, delegates, and our community,” Mather-Brown said. “From our venue team’s tried and tested world-class operational practices, to our team training programs dedicated to driving positive social benefits for the people of New South Wales through our Legacy Program – these awards are a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication.

“When selecting our venue partner, ICC Sydney was an unparalleled choice,” Elevate the State event organiser and director of JT Strategic Solutions & Events, John Trevillian AM, said. “Their team’s mission and values align perfectly with the objectives of our organisation and the event. They are deeply committed to making a difference in the local community. I commend ICC Sydney on taking home the Sustainability Initiative – Social and Cultural Award.”

“We congratulate ICC Sydney on the Venue Team of the Year award win,” PDK Events director Janina Condran said.

“It takes a lot of competent professionals to deliver events for our clients. From the first point of call, through the intricate details in the weeks preceding the event, to the onsite execution, we have had the privilege of working with ICC Team Leads who deliver excellent results but more importantly care about the outcomes for both us and our clients.”

The inaugural 2024 Australian Business Event Association awards recognised the exceptional work of its members and highlighted the events, products, services, initiatives, and teams that are delivering best practice.
